Dancer of the Year crowned for 2014
Pacific Resort Rarotonga activities manager Matt Pierre has been crowned Cook Islands National Dancer of the Year at the 2014 Te Mira Ure competition. The competition is the highlight of the annual Island Dance Festival Week, and is a prestigious dance title in the Cook Islands. Pierre is delighted to hold the coveted title, saying dancing has been a long-time love of his, and that winning the National Dancer of the Year is something he has wanted to achieve for some time.

More than 2.5 million people have already viewed the video – featuring scantily-dressed swimsuit models in the Cook Islands - since it went live on YouTube 10 days ago.

After a record number of 47 entrants into the 2013 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards this year, the confidential New Zealand based awards assessors have completed their evaluations and 21 hopeful businesses have been named as finalists.
Volunteers step up for rubbish round-up
Hundreds of kilograms of rubbish were collected by volunteers during this year’s rubbish round-up events in Rarotonga.
Volunteers who took part included representatives from KiteSUP, Pacific Resort and Pacific Divers, as well as other locals and some tourists from New Zealand. Rubbish collected ranged from the very small, such as cigarette butts, to the large, such as old cages. Nu and bananas were provided for the volunteers, sponsored by Pacific Resort.

Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa and Pacific Resort Aitutaki, have been named regional finalists for the ‘South Pacific Property of the Year’ category, which is part of the HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence 2013.

Aitutaki is number one according to an online article by global media giant CNN which listed it as the top island “you’ve never heard of”.

Pacific Resort announces big investments in Raro, Aitutaki
Pacific Resort Hotel Group (PRHG) is investing more than $1 million for resort upgrades for two of their iconic Cook Islands properties, Pacific Resort Rarotonga and Pacific Resort Aitutaki, furthering work completed done over the past year.
