Seven star hopes for local resorts


Pacific Resort Hotel Group is in the running for even more awards.

The group announced last week that two of their properties had been nominated for the Seven Star Luxury Awards, for the third year in a row. 

Five-star luxury properties Pacific Resort Aitutaki and Te Manava Luxury Villas and Spa have been nominated in the Cook Islands section, and now it’s up to the trade and public to vote. 

The Seven Star Luxury Award is the top prize in the Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle sectors.

New manager for Pacific Resort Aitutaki


Pacific Resort Hotel Group has appointed Shelley White to the position of manager at the five-star Pacific Resort Aitutaki. 

White is tasked with building on the solid platform already set by the resort and taking the operation to even higher levels.

Originally from the US, White has spent the last 12 years as general manager working at high-end boutique properties in Fiji and New Zealand. They include Tongariro Lodge, Toberua Island Resort, Qamea Resort and Spa, Koru Sun Resort and Taveuni Palms. She is a highly experienced manager with a strong reputation in the South Pacific.

Pacific Resort's team helps clean Rarotonga


Pacific Resort Rarotonga's team took part in the Rarotonga Rubbish Round up program on September 20, collecting more than 200kg of rubbish from Avana and Koromiri motus and Muri beach. 

Pacific Resort provided a boat to take the volunteers accross the lagoon to the motus, participants included Deputy CEO Marcus Niszow, Resort Manager Ani Thompson and members of the Food & Beverage, Reception, Housekeeping, Beach Hut, Engineering and Marketing teams.

Volunteers step up for rubbish round-up


Hundreds of kilograms of rubbish were collected by volunteers during this year’s rubbish round-up events in Rarotonga.

Volunteers who took part included representatives from KiteSUP, Pacific Resort and Pacific Divers, as well as other locals and some tourists from New Zealand. Rubbish collected ranged from the very small, such as cigarette butts, to the large, such as old cages. Nu and bananas were provided for the volunteers, sponsored by Pacific Resort.
