Pacific Resort Hotel Group excels at Cook Islands Tourism Awards
Pacific Resort Hotel Group (PRHG) has capped off a phenomenal year by dominating the biennial 2013 Air New Zealand Cook Island Tourism Awards on Friday November 15. The event, held at the residence of the New Zealand High Commissioner in Rarotonga, saw PRHG scoop a total of four awards including the top honour of the night, the Air New Zealand Supreme Tourism Business Award. PRHG was also honoured to be the recipient of the Hotels and Resorts Award, Internet Marketing Award and Outer Islands Award, with the latter recognising the hotel group’s five-star accommodation Pacific Resort Aitutaki. PRHG’s other luxury five-star property, Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa, was also named as a finalist for the Self Catering Award, further proving the high standard of all three PRHG properties.
This year’s celebration marks the third occasion of the bi-annual Cook Island Tourism Awards, with the sold-out event drawing in 220 guests, including Air New Zealand chief executive Christopher Luxon, Giesen Wines chief executive Theo Giesen and Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt. The night belonged to PRHG with the leading management company a clear stand-out at the event, building on its reputation as a benchmark for the Tourism industry in the Cook Islands.
PRHG CEO Greg Stanaway was delighted by the achievement and stated “We are truly honoured by this achievement. Our international accolades over the years have provided us with recognition as a world class organisation but there is nothing more satisfying and rewarding for our team than being recognised in our own country as being the best.”
PRHG’s haul of Cook Island Tourism Awards continues to build on the company’s success for 2013, with Pacific Resort Aitutaki taking home three World Travel Awards earlier this year for “Australasia’s Leading Boutique Resort”, “Cook Islands’ Leading Resort” and “Cook Islands’ Leading Villa Resort”. PRHG has well and truly placed itself on the map in the last ten years, with the company poising itself for sustainable growth into the future.
