Muri Beach

About Muri

Muri Beach, situated on the south-eastern coast of Rarotonga, is one of the most popular beaches on the island. This comes as no surprise, as once you step out onto Muri's white sands you are instantly struck by its natural beauty - the perfect location for your stay on Rarotonga.

Characterised by its sweeping arch of white sand, backed by palm and ironwood trees, Muri is home to a glowing lagoon which surrounds four uninhabited islands - two of which can be reached on foot during low-tide. This shallow depth makes it ideal for family holidays, especially if you have younger children who are wanting to swim and go snorkelling.

Once you have witnessed the brilliant turquoise of the lagoon for yourself, you will have the urge to jump in and explore what can only be seen from under its surface. Many areas have a Raui in place - a protected marine reserve meaning the lagoon is the perfect location for snorkelling, as fish are plentiful and easily found.

The beachfront is also home to a number of restaurants, clubs and bars that let you relax and take in the stunning scenery. A number of dealers hire out equipment such as catamarans, hold wind surfing lessons or help you test out your para-surfing skills. Contact Pacific Resort Rarotonga for more information
